The potter Shunsai was born as the second son of the potter Takahashi Rakusai. He became third generation of his family business in 1974.
After his graduation of the Kyoto School for crafts he was invited to a number of large exhibitions at the Nitten and a diversity of craft and ceramic exhibitions for many years until his death.
